About
That's me. ☝ Amber Hooper, an above-average-height, self-published author who loves soccer, reading, baking, and eating. This picture was taken as I thoroughly enjoyed good seats at a professional soccer game, my hair recently highlighted by an amazing stylist. My husband clicked the picture, as neither of our hands were occupied with our future lot of five rowdy, lovely children. If you asked them what I like to do, they would say something like 'clean the house' because that's what I do all day. My husband mockingly suggests we go to the library when I complain we never do what I like to do. He knows I don't care for the library. Too stuffy. And full of judgmental eyes when you request directions to the romance novel section. Is this the 1700's? Are novels still considered nonsense?
I write nonsense, apparently. I don't read self help books or nonfiction because I prefer to live in the fantasy world of fiction. Some of my books are indeed nonsense, full of romance and action and petty high school drama. Look carefully, though. You might find some hidden meaning. I think they call that literary fiction? No . . . no, I couldn't write anything that substantial. But I wouldn't read anything that substantial, either. Too boring. If you want to curl up with a good story to forget about your current stress or monotony, read one of my books! They are guaranteed to be clean (sometimes referred to as proper, I think?) but not boring, around the Young Adult age. Genres vary between Historical Romance (Western, Regency, etc.), Fantasy (paranormal, post-apocalyptic, etc.), and Contemporary (think Rom Com in book form).
All of my books are free. I never would have had books to read if it weren't for libraries (I know, I know- stuffy though they may be), and I think people should be able to read for free. Maybe one day a book of mine will be turned into a movie and I'll be rich. Probably not. But for now, at least, they'll be free! Just join my mailing list. I release a new book after a particular amount of subscribed downloads. I promise never to use your email for anything other than to give you more free books or let you know about new giveaways or events.

I'll update the Home Page frequently to note the number of downloads needed for the next novel debut (for free, of course). Just tell your friends to subscribe! I personally tend to shy away from plenty of books, especially romance novels, unless I know someone personally who's read the book (or author's other books) and can tell me the level of *ahem* morality the author prefers.
So, for the record: My books may be filled with love and passion, but NEVER sex, missing clothing, or anything that might make you consider putting down the book to save your mind's virtue. If you want recommendations for other authors who feel the same way, let me know in the comment section when you subscribe to my site for free books!
Happy Reading!
